Dr. Dre Hospitalized Following Brain Aneurysm
Dr. Dre is in the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm.
According to TMZ, the hip-hop mogul had the aneurysm today and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was taken directly to ICU, where he remains as of Tuesday.
The 55-year-old producer is reportedly in “stable and lucid” condition. Doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and are performing a series of tests.
Dre returned to Instagram to provide an encouraging update on his condition. In a statement, he said he is “doing great” and will be released from the hospital soon. He also thanked his supporters and the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” wrote Dre. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
Dre is in the middle of a contentious divorce with his estranged wife. Nicole Young is seeking $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees. She wants a judge to reject the prenuptial agreement she signed in 1996, claiming Dre ripped it up early on in their marriage.
