SZA Lands 12th Billboard Hot 100 Entry With 'Hit Different'
Hit Different by SZA debuts at #29 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, posing as the ctrl hitmaker’s 12th entry on the chart.
On September 4th, SZA season returned when the critically acclaimed songbird surprise released the Ty Dolla $ign assisted collaboration.
With nostalgic production by The Neptunes, TDE’s first lady unleashed the dreamy anthem to all streaming services, where she reflected on the highs and lows of an intoxicating relationship.
Accompanying the release was her directorial debut. The sultry visual trended at #1 on YouTube, amassing over 1 million views in only 15 hours. Comprising of smooth choreography in a car yard and stunning scenes in a field of straw, it also featured an exclusive look in to an additional track titled Good Days.
The surprise release soared in to the top 5 on Apple Music and iTunes, peaking atop the R&B song and video charts, while also earning the top debut (#5) on US Spotify with 1,105,414 streams in its first 24 hours.
Hit Different has accumulated an impressive 20 million combined streams across all platforms, becoming SZA’s fourth top 30 placement on the Billboard Hot 100, joining previously released singles The Weekend, All The Stars and What Lovers Do.
The newest addition to the singer’s chart record was met with praise from some of the biggest names in music right now – Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd, Summer Walker, Kehlani and many more.
The nine-time Grammy nominee teased the concept of a “music dump” ahead of her sophomore release, where she will grace her fans with unreleased music created over the years.
Hit Different is available now for streaming and purchase on all platforms.
