Album Review: Jack Harlow - Sweet Action

Louisville Kentucky Native Jack Harlow who is currently known for his new hit track ‘Whats Poppin’ has just released his new seven-track album called ‘Sweet Action’.

Jack opens the project up with ‘What's Poppin’ which blew up from his music video with Cole Bennet on Lyrical Lemonade. This song only gives you a sneak peak of the creativity and skill that Jack Harlow has in rap. Jack's contagious flow over the bouncy keyboard trap beat is the perfect way to open this project.

Jack has used ‘Sweet Action’ to show that he can write and perform a hit. His third track is called ‘I Wanna See Some Ass’ which is a very to the point title to say the least, Harlow had teased this song a few times around his Instagram account over the past few months and it definitely delivers. Jack taps into a bit more of a melodic flow over a very addicting beat which creates an overall great track. I am expecting this song to gain the same attention and recognition that ‘What's Poppin’ has if not more.

Harlow has used ‘Sweet Action’ to show he can work over various styles of rap, he showcases his fast and ignorant flow on his song ‘Hey Big Head’ and follows this song with his final track ‘Once May Comes’ where Harlow switches to a smooth voice where he sings over the vibey beat which is the perfect way to finish his album.

The only real disappointing thing about Harlow’s album ‘Sweet Action’ is that it is only sixteen minutes long with seven tracks behind the project. The project definitely leaves you wanting more which is maybe what Harlow was going for intentionally. Overall ‘Sweet Action’ is short and sweet, Harlow has recently stamped his name out into mainstream music and ‘Sweet Action’ will only keep the spotlight tuned in on him. Jack Harlow may not look like your everyday “rapper” as such, but this kid could be running the game in no time.
