Diddy Previews The Weeknd Collaboration Ahead Of New Album
A new Diddy era is finally approaching.
The hip-hop icon has teased a brand new song featuring The Weeknd as part of a Beats by Dre commercial starring Kayvon Thibodeaux. Diddy comes in midway through the minute-long clip to share some empowering words that capture the NFL prospect’s story of perseverance and determination.
“All I am is a man with ambition to be the best … Sometimes you’ve got to go through the dark to manifest,” he raps before Abel sings, “Another one of me won’t come around.”
The Weeknd’s vocals were originally recorded during the Kiss Land era. Back in August 2020, he shared a demo version titled “Another One of Me” during the “Kiss Land” episode of his Apple Music show “Memento Mori.” Another version of the track with French Montana leaked earlier this year.
The Diddy teaser comes amid reports that he has signed a new deal with Motown Records as he gears up to release his first project since 2015’s MMM (Money Making Mitch).
Last year, he announced plans to release an R&B album called Off the Grid, but it never saw the light of day. “I’m making a classic,” he said at the time, while also announcing that he recorded an R&B version of his 1997 hit “It’s All About the Benjamins.”
As he gears up for his musical comeback, Diddy will host and executive produce the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on May 15 in Las Vegas.
