Trey Songz Responds To Rape Allegations
Trey Songz is responding to accusations that he raped a woman.
Former University of Las Vegas women’s basketball player Dylan Gonzalez has accused the R&B singer of raping her at a Las Vegas hotel several years back. In a statement shared on Twitter, Gonzalez said she suffered trauma after the alleged sexual assault.
“With what seems like endlessly reoccurring news of the alleged sexual assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas Hotel,” she wrote on Tuesday (Jan. 11).
Gonzalez, who is also a singer, shared her support for other victims of sexual abuse and encouraged them to come forward. “I want to send my love, strength, and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its fatal nature. You are not alone,” she added. “I stand with you and encourage all those who have suffered abuse to speak out and come forward. Suppression of our voices only emboldens our oppressors, and you cannot heal what you do not reveal.”
Trey has denied the rape allegations. His team tells TMZ that he will be exonerated after the legal process plays out.
Gonzalez is weighing her legal options. Her lawyers plan to file a civil suit against Trey in the coming weeks. However, there was no mention of filing a police report or criminal charges.
“I fully commit to pursue the best course of action and all of my legal options,” she said.
