Atlanta’s Young Thug and his label YSL have released a label project “Slime Language 2” the album consists of 23 songs over a compilation of artists from their label.

The album kicks off with “Slatty” which in all honesty is catchy but gives us absolutely nothing and sounds like it was put together in five minutes, Ski is the next track which is outstanding compared to the opening track, Gunna and Thug both come through with addictive verses. Solid is another track that follows with a big feature from Drake which is the first track that slows down the tempo of the album but this song does come across as quite a mediocre track.

“Wokstar” was personally one of the standout tracks with a surprising feature from the UK’s Skepta who I wouldn’t have previously imagined being involved in this project, Skepta brings his smooth grimey flow to the catchy beat, Strick also had a standout performance on this song and definitely gained my attention.

Slime Language contains a lot of new unknown discovered artists and looking at this project it looks like a future investment from Young Thug who is known for discovering talent to give his artists the co-sign and a bigger platform to expose them to. The album is long and is defiantly has a few “fillers” in there but overall it is an exciting project to consume with the way we are exposed to so many new artists under the YSL banner.
