On March 5 Eddie Huang will make his directorial debut with Boogie. A film that follows an aspiring high school basketball star and titular character, the late Pop Smoke will make his own — albeit posthumous — film debut portraying the titular character’s on-court rival Monk.

“A lot of actors just don’t have the depth of emotion and experiences, but because of what Pop’s gone through, he has a tremendous well to draw from,” Huang said to The New York Times  back in June 2020. “He gave me a thousand percent.”

The movie is set to feature previously-unreleased music from Pop Smoke, “AP.” That song can be heard below.
