Donald Glover Working On Beyoncé-Inspired TV Series With Malia Obama

Donald Glover has signed a multiple-year, eight-figure overall deal with Amazon after exiting his pact with FX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the first projects will be a series called “Hive” centered around a “Beyoncé-like figure.” A writing staff has already been assembled, which will reportedly include Malia Obama.

Glover recently announced that he and “Fleabag” creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge are creating, starring in, and executive producing a reboot of the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is set to hit Amazon in 2022.

His Amazon partnership will also include a content channel that will spotlight his work and other curated content on Amazon’s Prime Video hub. Glover’s brother and writing/producing partner, Stephen Glover, has also signed an overall deal with Amazon.
