Travis Scott's CACTI Hard Seltzer Discontinued
Travis Scott’s hard seltzer has been discontinued by Anheuser-Busch, just nine months after it went on sale.
“After careful evaluation, we have decided to stop all production and brand development of CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer,” the brewing company said in a statement to AdAge. “We believe brand fans will understand and respect this decision.”
A rep for Anheuser-Busch would not say whether the decision was related to the Astroworld tragedy. Cacti’s Twitter account was no longer active as of Friday.
“Travis was clear in his interview that he is not focused on business right now and his priority is helping his community and fans heal,” a rep for the rapper told TMZ, referring to his recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God. “CACTI asked AB InBev to inform their wholesalers there will not be a product at this time.”
Cacti launched to robust sales in March, which had reportedly tapered off. “After a rocketship start, becoming a top 5 seltzer brand with 3.2 share of the segment in just one week of sales, it has petered out significantly,” reported Beer Business Daily.
Last month, Nike announced that it would delay the release of its Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack sneaker with Travis in the wake of the tragedy at the Houston festival, which resulted in 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
