Big Sean Reveals He Is Starting His Own Record Label
Big Sean may have recently released his highly anticipated album Detroit 2, but he already has his mind on the future.
The rapper recently revealed he is going to start his own record label!
During an a Q&A session on Twitter, Sean was asked whether he is still signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. In his response to the tweet, he announced the news.
“Yep! I’m starting my own after this album though,” he tweeted. “Any artist u think I need to sign? It’s time!”
Despite Sean’s intentions to start his own label, he is in great standing with West.
Following the release of Detroit 2, the College Dropout star, who is an executive producer of the album, took to Twitter to congratulate Sean.
“Congratulations to my brother Big Sean on his new album Good music for life,” he wrote. Sean responded, “Love you big bro no matter what! Thank you! 4 Life.”
Sean previously expressed his support for West and his presidential campaign amid his press run for the project, noting he just wants the best for his mentor.
“Kanye is my brother, so it’s like … there have been so many times where he says something people may have thought was crazy, and I’ve seen him execute it,” he said. “I was there when he was in debt for millions. He believed in himself, and now he’s out of debt. He’s one of few billionaires in hip-hop. More than anything, more than a presidency, I just want my brother to be happy. That’s the goal.”
Detroit 2 came out on Friday.
