Tory Lanez Apologized To Megan Thee Stallion For Shooting, Says He Was Drunk
Tory Lanez allegedly sent an apology to Megan Thee Stallion, claiming he shot her because he got too drunk.
The text message was reportedly sent about 15 hours after the July 12 shooting in the Hollywood Hills where Tory allegedly opened fire on Megan. At the time, she was still in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds to her feet.
In his apology, obtained by TMZ, he wrote, “I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart.”
He claims he acted violently because he was intoxicated. “I was just too drunk,” he said.
Tory did not reference the “shooting” or a gun in his text, but he was remorseful for his actions. “None the less shit should have never happened and I can’t change what did. I just feel horrible,” he said, adding, “Cuz I genuinely just got too drunk.”
Tory allegedly shot Megan following an argument in their chauffeured vehicle as they were returning from a party in the Hollywood Hills on July 12. The Canadian rapper allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Megan in her feet as she was walking away. Police responded to reports of shots fired from or around an SUV. Tory was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon after cops allegedly discovered a handgun under the front passenger seat where he was sitting.
Megan, who had to have surgery to remove the bullets, later called out Tory as the shooter. “Yes, this ni**a Tory shot me,” she said while live on Instagram. “You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying.”
Tory has not been arrested or charged for the shooting, but the L.A. County District Attorney is considering charging him with felony assault with a firearm.
Megan has not been in contact with Tory since the shooting and allegedly never responded to his apology text.
