Album Review: Juice WRLD - Legends Never Die
Juice Wrld's posthumous album ‘Legends Never Die’ has been released to us after the Chicago born Superstar passed away late last year at the young age of 21 years old.
Juice's project starts with an interlude of Juice talking to us about his creation of his craft but also leaving us with inspiring and touching words sort of like a love letter to us for the beginning of his project. This is followed by "Conversations" and "Titanic", Conversations and Titanic is Juice addressing his battle with his demons and his anxiety and the battle that was really going on inside. Juices deep lyricism is backed up by his typical catchy hooks and wordplay that helped propel Juice to the level he hit in the industry.
‘Legends Never Die’ has been packed with a lot of slower and more emotional Juice songs as we would expect and it is quite hard to listen to the lyrics when you dive straight into what Juice is actually saying. On "Wishing Well" Juice says " Let's be for real, if it wasn't for these pills I wouldn't be here, but if I keep taking these pills I won't be here" a lot of these lyrics hit home throughout the project and in a way that Juice knew how to do and maybe these lyrics just hit harder now that he has gone and with the circumstances in how it happened.
‘Man of the Year’ stands out as a track on this project with the heavy pop-punk influence in the production of this song. This song production felt like an old Blink 182 song that you dragged through your headphones while in High School. This song was a lot of fun to hear juice on and it does make you wonder if this was going to be a direction Juice would be heading with more of his songs with his punk influence. This song is followed by the final interlude where Juice is sending us a final message from heaven, I'm not crying it is just raining inside.
‘Legends Never Die’ was always going to be an emotional project, Juice really had a special impact on people while he was here and he still does now. He was inspirational and taught us to chase our dreams, Juice would laugh with us and cry with us. I do hope that there is more music from Juice to be released by his team as we know how much he did record and how creatively gifted he was. Legends never die, and Juice's legacy isn't going to disappear anytime soon.
