Young Thug Says He Almost Died From Liver & Kidney Failure
On Wednesday, Offset hosted his “Offset and Friends” virtual music experience with Young Thug, Rich the Kid, and SAINt JHN, with proceeds benefitting the Atlanta Community Food Bank for COVID-19 relief efforts.
During Young Thug’s live streamed performance, the YSL rapper revealed that he suffered a health scare after his liver and kidney failed.
“So, I kinda just stayed in the bed and I was like, ‘Yo call the ambulance. I can’t move my body,'” he said, according to Complex. “Then later, when the ambulance came, I couldn’t get out of the bed. They had to get me out of the bed basically. I felt like my whole body was numb and I couldn’t move.”
He was hospitalized for over two weeks and was told that he could have died. “I went to the hospital and I had found out that I had liver and kidney failure. And I kinda had sorta passed away like I kinda died. I was in the hospital for like 17 days,” he said. “I left the hospital, my mom didn’t trust it. So I left the hospital, we went to another hospital, they was like, ‘Man, you got liver and kidney failure. You supposed to be dead. Basically, you’ve been dead.’ I’ve been killed before.””
Thug is feeling better and is focused on his music. He and Chris Brown are set to release their Slime&B collaborative project on May 5.
