Young Gho$t & Dharmarat Team Up For New Single 'Timewasters'
The Chronic Shnxman-produced track is a laid back collaborative effort, juxtaposing easy flows with scathing bars and set over a Western sounding beat. The title 'Timewasters' refers not only to those who the vocalists take aim at in their barbed lyrics, but also relates back to the lyricists themselves, who each paint a vivid image of decadent time-wasting through their words.
Sonically, the track is at the mellower end of Gho$t's pallette, riding easy on summer vibes, while Shnxman's heavy touch is still apparent in the hard-hitting drums and bass.
As Young Gho$t's first track of the new decade, he aims to reflect positively on those around him and the experiences which have shaped him. It will be the first of a number of single and EP releases to come in the first half of 2020 for the UK-born spitter, tackling a range of styles.
As for Dharmarat, he is on a sabbatical in 2020 when it comes to solo releases, however, this irreverent feature shows that it is not for lack of bars, and whatever he's got planned is sure to be a surprise.
After a huge summer in which Young Gho$t released an album 'Hungerstruck', as well as playing his first festival at Takaka's Twisted Frequency, he is ready for the new year, with upcoming shows scheduled in Wellington and Nelson. Meanwhile, Dharmarat is gearing up for the 'WLKNZ' launch party, where he will be performing his widely acclaimed new album with a range of guests.
