Roddy Ricch Returns To #1 On Billboard Charts
Roddy Ricch has definitely been one of the biggest success stories in music over the past few months.
His single ‘The Box’ is spending its third week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with a huge margin between him and others down the chart. The single’s massive run is also contributing big to the sales of his debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial which is has returned to the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for a third non-consecutive week, reports Billboard.
Roddy Ricch’s album moved 95k copies this week and has spent a total of three weeks at number 1, all in separate one-week visits to the top. With this, comes a very interesting feat noted by ChartData. Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial is now the longest-running #1 debut rap album (non-consecutive) on Billboard 200 since 50 Cent’s debut in 2003 with Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
The Compton’s rapper run is likely to be cut short again this coming week when new albums from Lil Wayne and Russ enter the chart. The former’s new project Funeral is projected to move about 110-125k copies in its first week.
