Album Review: Aminé - Limbo (Deluxe)

“Caroline” Hitmaker Aminé has released a deluxe album of his project “Limbo” that was released in August, and I have the pleasure of diving headfirst into this project.

Aminé starts the deluxe with “Mrs Clean” which is produced by Pierre Bourne, Aminé gives us a feel-good upbeat track to begin the project which is followed by “Zack & Cody” which doesn't give us much except a decent hook from Valee who features. The opening few tracks barely hit over the two-minute mark in duration with the deluxe kind of feeling like a project of Aminé’s throwaway tracks.

Comparing the deluxe to the original project Aminé dropped there seems to be a massive difference in the level of production. Some of the production and beats on the deluxe just don’t give us anything to get attached to and with the repetitiveness of topics from Aminé, it gets harder and harder to sit through and find something to be drawn into as the listener. Don’t get me wrong “Limbo” itself isn’t a bad project but this can be an example of when an artist releases a deluxe that can tarnish the original product.

The deluxe didn’t give us anything and I kinda wonder why this was even put out, maybe as artists now and with the number of deluxe being released artists maybe feel like they have to throw out another body of work on top of the original album. For me, the deluxe gave me nothing but it will be interesting to see how Amine moves forward from here.
