Album Review: Ty Dolla $ign - Featuring Ty Dolla $ign
Ty Dolla $ign has released his new album "Featuring Ty Dolla $ign" which is backed up by a star-studded lineup of features that include the likes of Kanye West, Post Malone and Kehlani just to name a few.
"Featuring Ty Dolla $ign" boasts 25 tracks with the album hitting just over an hour and it's no surprise when you see the variety of names that have contributed to this project. "Status" is the first track where Ty boasts about having anything he wants especially for how far he has come through the game. "Temptations" features Kid Cudi and you can instantly hear Cudi's effect on the song with the opening of the song bringing back old "Man on the Moon" vibes, this song keeps the pace of the album flowing well.
One thing is clear throughout the album and that is Ty has tried to cater to all different aspects of his audience throughout the album. Ty Dolla $ign has always be involved in songs that slightly hit differently from smooth soulful RNB songs to more ignorant Hip Hop music and Ty has attempted to cater to everyone on this project. "Universe" which features Kehlani takes us through a soulful guitar voyage where Ty sings about his successes on a "feel good" track, whereas "Lift Me Up" switches the vibe with more ignorant spitting along with some help from Future and Young Thug.
Ty Dolla $ign has well and truly delivered on this project, despite the duration of the album surprisingly amongst all those songs, as a listener you don't get lost as the layout and variety of the tracks with the filling interludes places the album down well as an experience. Ty Dolla $ign doesn't always get the credit I feel he is due from this game and this album is another example as to why he will be around for year's to come.
