Nicki Minaj Announces Retirement From Music
In a surprise move, Nicki Minaj has announced on Twitter that she’s retiring and starting her family.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” she wrote. It came as a shock to her millions of fans as the announcement really arrived out of nowhere and without any notice. Fans are tweeting her all kinds of emotional messages on the social media platform. Nicki is dating longtime friend Kenneth Petty who she plans to marry in the near future.
Whether she’s serious or not, it is yet to be seen. Nicki has been working on her new album, the followup to Queen which released last August and debuted at the number 2 spot of Billboard 200 with 185k copies sold in the first week. Back in June, Nicki revealed her new album is almost done but she wasn’t ready to put out a date yet.
The New York rapper appears on Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single ‘Hot Girl Summer’ the music video that was released earlier this week.
