JT is coming home.

The City Girls rapper, who has been in prison since June 2018, will be released sometime this month and placed in a halfway house. Yung Miami revealed the news during an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Beats 1, sharing that she and her fellow City Girl plan to reunite and hit the studio to record a new album, which will arrive in spring 2020.

“JT coming home this month,” said Yung Miami. “When she come home we’re working on another album that we’re gonna drop hopefully for spring break. She gotta come home. We gotta record.”

In May, the 26-year-old rapper filed documents requesting to be released from a Tallahassee prison so she could be placed in a halfway house, arguing that she needs to get back to work. A judge denied her request, but the Bureau of Prisons may have granted her motion.

The September release date corresponds with a previous report from Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas, who said in June that JT would be released in the next 90 days. As XXL points out, JT’s release date is still listed as March 21, 2020 by the federal government’s inmate locator. But she may be allowed to serve time outside of her cell.

In June 2018, JT started serving a 24-month prison sentence for charges related to felony identity theft. She will have to complete one year of probation following her release.

Meanwhile, Yung Miami is preparing to welcome her second child and first with producer Southside. During the Ebro interview, she revealed that the baby is due Oct. 17.
