Megan Thee Stallion Talks 'Hot Girl Summer,' Nicki Minaj & More
Before releasing her new single ‘Hot Girl Summer,’ Hot Girl herself, Megan Thee Stallion, stopped by E!’s ‘Daily Pop,’ where she discussed the ‘Hot Girl’ phenomenon and her new collaboration with Nicki Minaj.
The Houston hottie knew that her catchphrase had reached the masses when celebrities like Miley Cyrus started using it. “Frickin’ Miley Cyrus is having a Hot Girl Summer. I was like, ‘OK, Hannah Montana, go ahead,'” she said. But it was Jada Pinkett Smith aka “Mrs. Hot Girl” that really made it official.
Plus, Tina Snow opened up about collaborating with Nicki on her new single, which also features Ty Dolla $ign. The song had already been recorded before the Queen jumped on the track following their Instagram Live session. “We just went live together and she literally recorded her verse that night. They sent the song to me and I was like, ‘This is not real life. Y’all are playing right now.'”
The host also asked her about the possibility of working with Cardi B. Despite her rivalry with Nicki, Meg is a fan of both rappers. “It’s really like a lot of the fans. They really make it seem like you’re picking sides,” she said. “I really, really, really like both of them. They’re two different people, two different rappers. It’s not even the same. I feel like we need to stop trying to compare them. I love both of them, so I would definitely like to collab with Cardi too.”
And when it comes to non-rappers that she wants to work with, Rihanna is at the top of her wish list. “I definitely wanna collab with Rihanna,” she said. “That’s next on my bucket list. The Bad Gal and the Hot Girl? That would be crazy.”
Meg recently linked up with another Houston hottie, Lizzo, and let her drive the boat while she played the flute. Watch below.
