J. Cole Announces 'Revenge of the Dreamers III' Release Date
The Dreamville boss has announced an official release date for the label’s highly-anticipated compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III. The album is set to arrive in time for the Fourth of July weekend on Friday, July 5. Cole also linked to a pre-order page selling limited edition merch.
“Revenge of the Dreamers dropping this Friday,” he tweeted.
An accompanying documentary, REVENGE: A Dreamville Film, will debut on Tuesday, July 2. The film chronicles the recording sessions for the album that took place at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta over the course of 10 days in January, with appearances Cole, Ari Lennox, Bas, T.I., EarthGang, Cozz, J.I.D, Lute, and more.
ROTD3, the third installment in the compilation series, has already spawned two singles–“Down Bad” with J. Cole, Bas, JID, EarthGang’s Olu, and Young Nudy, as well as “Got Me” featuring Ari Lennox, Ty Dolla $ign, Omen, and Dreezy.
“There were so many different energies,” Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad told XXL of the recording sessions. “The hardest part was finding how to bring those energies together and still make it feel like an album, like something that represents us. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. But the music is so good.”
