Soulja Boy Released From Jail Nearly Five Months Early

Today, the rapper was released from the Van Nuys Jail in Van Nuys, Calif., nearly five months before the end of his original sentence, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records.

Soulja Boy is back on the streets after only serving three months of his time given. TMZ reports police sources tell them the reason for his early departure is "a combination of good behaviour, time served and overcrowding."

SB was originally sentenced to 240 days in jail back in April for violating his probation. The violation comes from a raid conducted on his L.A.-area home for an unrelated matter where authorities discovered ammunition the entertainer was not allowed to be in possession of due to conditions of his probationary period.
