Young Thug's Gun Case Dropped Due to Insufficient Evidence

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has reportedly dropped Young Thug’s felony gun charge from last year.

TMZ reports authorities didn’t discover any DNA on the gun found in the vehicle Thugger was traveling in at the time. Investigators were unable to determine who the weapon belonged to because there were two other people in the car. As a result, Thug is off the hook.

Thug’s attorney Michael Goldstein said, “I commend the District Attorney’s Office for making the right decision after carefully reviewing the facts and body worn video over the past nine months. The fact so much time and work went into this decision reinforces trust in our system of justice.”

The Slime Language mastermind was arrested on August 16, 2018, which just happened to his 27th birthday and the night of his Los Angeles album release party. He was later charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle —  a felony.

It was originally believed a member of Thug’s entourage ran into a police cruiser, prompting a search. But according to the latest update, it was the cop car that was “unable to stop in time” before hitting the Rolls-Royce.
