Kodak Black Denied Bond, Will Remain In Jail Until Trial
Kodak Black will spend the American summer behind bars.
The “ZEZE” rapper has been denied bond and will remain in a Florida jail cell at least until September, according to TMZ.
On Thursday (May 30), a judge in the federal case ruled that Kodak stay in jail until his trial gets underway.
The 21-year-old MC previously requested to be released on bail while under strict supervision, so he could travel to South Carolina and deal with his sexual assault case from 2016. However, the Department of Justice agreed with prosecutors, saying he’s a danger to the community and shouldn’t be released before trial.
Kodak was arrested on weapons charges at Rolling Loud Miami earlier this month. He is scheduled to go on trial for allegedly making false statements on two different occasions while trying to purchase guns in January and again in March. Prosecutors say he acquired weapons during at least one of those transactions.
