August Alsina Returns With New Track 'Today'

August Alsina has been through a lot in his relatively short career. The 26 year old singer had a major health scare earlier this year — he had revealed to fans that he had lost sensation in both of his legs following a flare-up of his autoimmune disease.

August has also been battling complications due to a liver disease, stemming from the same autoimmune disease. In September, he told fans that he was being treated well and was in good spirits. “I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been tough on my body. But there are necessary steps in order to make progress,’ he wrote in the Instagram post’s caption which was later deleted. “Illness is so humbling and I often find myself singing this song of affirmation to myself everyday. So, I figured I’d share that same love, affirmation and motivation with yall, whoever may need it.”

If you remember, August is also not signed with his previous label Def Jam anymore and will be releasing music independently through distribution from EMPIRE. Today, Alsina returns to the scene with a brand new song called ‘Today.’
