Concert Review: Bhad Bhabie

When I first announced this show I was shocked to see the interest people had in this girl. Most of the comments were because of her “cash me outside how bout dat” quote, and how they wanted to fuck her up. Ok then. But then there were actual fans of her music.

I arrived at Studio at 7.30pm and The Katayanagi Twins were hyping up the crowd. Dropping everything from “Gucci Gang”, “Mo Bamba”, “FEFE” and “I Like It.” I understand why they’ve been booked for some big shows over the summer period.

7.50pm and DJ Asia arrived on stage. I thought the Twins did a better job hyping the crowd, to be honest.

Right from the start, the crowd loved Bhad Bhabie. She was joined on stage by Asia and Hype Lady/Dancer Caché. After the second song, she asked the all-ages crowd if they were ready to “fuck shit up.” During the song “Count It,” Asia and Caché were shooting money from two Supreme money guns. The crowd clearly loved it.

Bhad Bhabie did everything from dedicating a track to xxxtentacion, having a dance battle to “Big Bank” by YG and even dropping an A cappella freestyle with a diss towards Iggy Azealia...Can't forget telling the crowd that “I can beat the fuck out a bitch.”

Crowd favourites included “Hi Bich” and “Gucci Flip Flops.”

After 35 minutes the show was over. Even after a second performance of  “Gucci Flip Flop, ” the crowd wanted more. They didn’t want to leave and ended up chanting “Free 69."

What I found surprising was that she can actually spit raps. Going into the show I hadn’t listened to her music. I hadn’t watched any of her performances online. I wanted to go in with an open mind and I’m glad I did. I actually enjoyed her performance and I would go see again.

I understand why so many people hate on this girl, but I can see her sticking around.
