Nicki Minaj Sits Down With Zane Lowe For Apple Music Interview
A part of the plan for Nicki Minaj’s return to limelight has been the much awaited interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music. When the rapper announced the upcoming chat on social media yesterday, some were surprised that she skipped TIDAL, a service she co-owns and give one of the biggest interviews of her career to a rival service.
Nicki Minaj on Drake
Nicki referred to her next album as her best to date: “This is the best album in my life that I’ve ever created.” When Lowe pressed on her on the status of her relationship with Drake, Nicki compared the two to an old married couple, who get on each other's nerves but also serve each other in a learned capacity.
Nicki Minaj on Meek Mill
On the topic of her relationship with ex Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj became noticeably emotional. She insinuated that even though they are lovers in the past sense, Meek's prison sentence remains an issue that takes up space in her thoughts. Drake and her have since ironed out their issues stemming from Meek Mill debacle, if you take Nicki for her word. "Both Meek and Drake have moved on from that, their anger," she tells Zane Lowe.
Nicki Minaj on Cardi B
Nicki Minaj spoke on the Cardi B situation as well: “The only thing with Cardi that really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out. With ‘MotorSport,’ I felt ambushed,” said the hitmaker. “I have never seen her show me genuine love in an interview. I can just imagine how many girls wish they could of been on a song with Nicki Minaj,” she continued.
"I remember when I first came in the game, if a female of that stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying thank you. The first interview she did after "Motorsport" came out, it just really hurt me. She looked so aggravated and angry. The only thing she said was "oh, I didn't hear that, I didn't hear that verse." Like what?"
