JAY-Z on Trump's Presidency: 'He's Bringing Out an Ugly Side of America'
Jay-Z is an open book in his upcoming Netflix interview on My Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. So when the conversation veered into politics, the rap mogul opened up about what living in President Trump's America has taught him.
Letterman launched into the political section of the discussion by sarcastically stating, "I'm beginning to lose confidence in the Trump administration," before questioning Jay about his thoughts on Trump's presidency.
"I think it’s actually a great thing,” he says to Letterman. “What he's forcing people to do is have a conversation and band together and work together. You can’t really address something that’s not revealed. He’s bringing out an ugly side of America that we wanted to believe was gone, but it’s still here and we still gotta deal with it. We have to have the tough conversations; we have to talk about the N-word, we have to talk about why white men are so privileged in this country.”
JAY-Z's interview on My Guest Needs No Introduction will be available for streaming on Friday (April 6) on Netflix. Check out a snippet of the interview below.
